Three things we learnt from Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City

Theo Walcott summed up the frustration of most at the Emirates

The Emirates has developed a bit of a reputation for a somewhat toxic atmosphere when things aren’t going the Gunners way, and that was the case on Sunday afternoon. With Arsene Wenger under more pressure than at any other point in his 20 years at the club, he could have done without the actions of Theo Walcott.

Having scored the first goal but failed to make a major impact on the game, the winger was replaced by Olivier Giroud with just over 22 minutes left on the clock, and he reacted furiously, throwing a tantrum as he walked off and ignoring his manager as he found his place on the bench.

With rumours of discontent in the dressing room as well as in the stands, Walcott will have done little to help out the man who brought him to London over ten years ago. With the pressure now on, it seems only a matter of time before Wenger makes an announcement on his future, but he seems destined to stay despite the frustration of the fans.
