Pep Guardiola has his work cut out this summer
Whilst the likes of Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne may be enough to strike fear into the heart of any defence in the land, it is clear that Manchester City need to make some big signings this summer if they are to be contenders next season.
Jesus Navas became a makeshift right-back, which seems ludicrous at a club with such wealth and strength in the transfer market, and the Spaniard struggled at times. Great at the attacking side of the wing-back role, but it was clear that he was struggling with his defensive responsibilities.
With Nicolas Otamendi almost playing in Mesut Ozil to find a winner late on, and Gael Clichy bizarrely stuttering to allow Theo Walcott to equalise in the first half, it’s clear that additions are required in the summer if City are to become contenders for the title next campaign.
