Even Pep Guardiola makes mistakes on occasion

Manchester City have looked simply breathtaking at times to start off this current campaign, and a large factor in that is down to their manager and his style of play. However, tonight he got it wrong. He went into the game without a striker in the starting eleven, and they were creating chances but City had nobody on the end of them. Perhaps if he’d have been bold and gone with Sergio Aguero up top instead of playing a false nine, things could’ve been oh so different.

Their build-up play on the night was absolutely superb, and with an hour gone they’d have been shaking their head at how they were two-nil down and a man down, but unfortunately, the lack of any real cutting edge gave them no hope, and no way back into things.
