Pogba and Ibrahimovic relationship is growing at Old Trafford

For the last few matches at least, it seems like you can’t hear the name of one of Manchester United’s big summer signings without the other immediately following.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba have become a revelation for Jose Mourinho since they arrived at Old Trafford in pre-season, and the Portuguese manager will be delighted to see how much their chemistry is growing on the field – the duo combined for United’s FA Cup winner at Blackburn on Sunday, and their chemistry was shown in abundance once again on Wednesday night in France.

Pogba dominated the middle of the park from the word go, and although Ibrahimovic had less joy than at Old Trafford last week against the same opponents, their link-up play was to be admired.

There seems to be an innate connection between the two when they play; little flicks almost always find the other, and Pogba was unlucky to be inches away from a pass from the Swede late on.

There’s a real understanding starting to brew at Manchester United, and these two have been integral to the Red’s run of only a single loss in their last 29 matches in all competitions.
