Three things we learnt from Watford 1-3 Arsenal including Özil's return
Arsenal recorded their first Premier League win of the season with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road. Santi Cazorla put Arsenal into an early lead from the spot, before Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil’s goals put Arsenal into an unassailable position by half time. Arsenal’s movement was too fluid for Watford’s back three, who were constantly goaded into wide positions where they did not want to be.
Walter Mazzarri went to a flat back four in the second half, and the Hornets improved and pulled a goal back through new singing Roberto Pereyra. The visitors saw the game out fairly comfortably however, and continued to threaten on the counter attack. We examined three noteworthy aspects of a routine Arsenal victory.
