Late Wednesday night in the United States, Tottenham Hotspur played out an entertaining 4-1 victory over Roma in San Diego.
Here are three things we learned from the match…
When given the chance, Fernando Llorente can be lethal
Although the Spanish striker endured a tough season last year, Fernando Llorente thrived as a centre-forward against Roma.
Llorente bagged two goals in the opening twenty minutes and led the line with aplomb, reminding Tottenham supporters of why the club purchased him from Swansea City last summer.
The striker chased down a deflected ball for his opening strike and powerfully headed home to equalise shortly after the Serie A club took the lead.
His second goal was a routine tap-in, created by impressive poaching instincts and good movement to evade his defender after a rebound.

Tottenham can thrive off their wide play
The north Londoners scored all four of their first half goals from wing play, and were constantly threatening from wide areas in their attacking 4-3-3 formation.
Whether it was dangerous deliveries from fullback Serge Aurier, winger Lucas Moura, or set-piece expert Christian Eriksen, Tottenham terrorised Roma on the wings.
Moura, in particular, was a bright spot, bagging twice in the first half and staking his claim for a more involved role next season.
Ben Davies is not the ideal centre-back
Forced to operate in heart of defence instead of his preferred fullback position, Ben Davies was clearly a tad out of his depth as a centre-half.
Spurs conceded just three minutes in, and Davies clumsily missed a challenge and was flat-footed as Roma took the lead.
Davies was also lucky to stay on the pitch after a rash last-man challenge early on in the first half.
Overall, Davies showed why he is a fullback by trade and struggled to contain the Italians in the opening stages of the match.
