A story of two strikers

Jermain Defoe remains the most prominent goal threat in David Moyes’ Sunderland team and the travelling supporters will be hoping that he can continue his good early season form at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday. The former England international has already found the net four times so far this campaign, which equates to over half of the goals that The Black Cats have scored, and is undoubtedly the man who will be most likely to break the deadlock this weekend.

In contrast, Stoke City striker Wilfried Bony is probably one player who will not get his name on the scoresheet. The on-loan Manchester City striker has failed to hit the ground running for The Potters since his deadline day move and is completely out of form, is lacking sharpness and fitness, and looks devoid of confidence. Bony has yet to score in five appearances in all competitions so far this season and has mustered an average of one shot on target per match.
