They are no longer reliant on Sergio Aguero

There have been some rumours about the future of Sergio Aguero with some rumours doing the rounds that the Argentine could be surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium. That is absurd, but City are beginning to become a lot less reliant on their talisman. Although Aguero is still one of their key players, he had a quiet game on Tuesday and City still managed to win in a convincing fashion.

Their attacking play was spectacular with the attacking players finding pockets of space across the pitch. Aguero worked hard and certainly played his part, but he didn’t take the headlines. This situation will be interesting to follow as it is clear that Guardiola doesn’t want Aguero to be the star any longer. It is unlikely that he is moved on, but there is certainly something brewing between the Argentine and his manager.
