Sergio Aguero is set to be a record breaker

Last week Alan Shearer proclaimed that Sergio Aguero was the only world-class player to currently be plying his trade in the Premier League and it is hard to argue with the Argentinian’s goal scoring statistics.

The concept regarding what is deemed as being ‘world-class’ is open for debate, but Aguero is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in world football and his record in front of goal is astonishing.

His strike against Middlesbrough was his 14th goal of an already profitable season and the South American now has notched up a grand total of 150 goals in a Manchester City shirt.

Aguero is now the club’s 6th all-time goal scorer and on current form you would not bet against him breaking Eric Brook’s overall record of 177 strikes before the end of 2017.
