Inspiration of Petr Cech

It has been 12 years since Arsenal last won a Premier League title and during this time a common criticism of Arsene Wenger has been his reluctance to sign a truly world class goalkeeper. It is now quite clear that, with Petr Cech’s inclusion in the team, this is no longer an issue.

The 34 year-old was outstanding for The Gunners and made a multitude of vital saves that kept the visitors at bay and, even on the one occasion that he was beaten, the woodwork came to his rescue. Whilst Shkodran Mustafi has been an outstanding signing at the heart of the defence, you sense that the Arsenal back four are always susceptible to presenting opponents with goal scoring opportunities. If this is the case, then Wenger will need his experience goalkeeper to replicate this type of performance if the North London club are to finally claim the Premier League trophy.
