Everton aren’t quite challengers yet, partly due to their mentality
Ronald Koeman’s side have been in excellent form of late and many were predicting that a victory for the away side would have made them contenders for a top four finish if they could maintain their run of recent results.
However, having failed to win at Anfield since 1999, the visitors looked overawed at times as they once again failed to see off competition from one of the Premier League’s top clubs having been beaten by the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham with ease already this season.
That said, the future does look bright for the Toffees. With the likes of Mason Holgate, Matthew Pennington, Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all starting at Anfield alongside other stars like Ross Barkley, they certainly have a strong homegrown base to grow from.
