Philippe Coutinho is back to his best
Since returning from injury in the new year, Philippe Coutinho has struggled to reach the heights of his displays that he was producing in the first half of the season. On Saturday lunchtime though, the Brazilian was back at his magnificent best as he ran rings around the Everton midfield and defence.
Coutinho fired a warning shot as he weaved in and out of the Toffees backline early on only for Joel Robles to save his effort, but he didn’t give the goalkeeper a chance with his second attempt as, in a very similar move, he swept in and out before curling across Robles into the far corner.
His footwork and movement was too much for the away side to handle, and it was his run which saw him beat the Everton midfield comfortably before playing a smart through ball to Divock Origi to fire home a third goal to round off a superb day for the Reds.
