Chelsea’s squad depth has been shown up 

Chelsea have been fortunate to avoid injuries throughout this season and it is no coincidence that they have led the league table whilst enjoying the luxury of no European distractions and a lack of injuries.

At Old Trafford though, Conte was forced to make two changes with Marcos Alonso and Thibaut Courtois unavailable for selection through injury. Not only was there no real replacement for Alonso, meaning that Cesar Azpilicueta was forced out of position further forward, but the replacements in Kurt Zouma and Asmir Begovic looked nervous and rusty.

It went beyond just the starting eleven too, with Conte unable to bring a major threat off of the bench. Conte’s lack of faith in Michy Batshuayi once again proved costly, whilst Cesc Fabregas and Willian failed to produce the goods from the sidelines.
