Write off the La Liga giants at your peril
However, we all know exactly what happened the last time Barcelona suffered a heavy first-leg defeat in the Champions League so it’s certainly not an impossible task for them to progress.
Luis Enrique’s side are a completely different proposition in the Nou Camp, and if they can manage to put six past a strong Paris Saint-Germain side then they will fancy their chances of pulling off yet another miraculous Champions League comeback and find the net three times against Juventus.
It’s arguable that Barcelona deserved more from their first-leg defeat too, with Andres Iniesta and Luis Suarez both missing glorious chances inside the six-yard box to grab the crucial away goal.
Instead, the Catalan side seemed to be lacking that clinical edge that has been associated with Barcelona for so many years, only managing four shots on target throughout the whole of the 90 minutes despite playing much of the game with the ball – they had nearly 70% of possession.
It’s not out of the question that they can pull off the impossible once again next Wednesday evening, but against a well-drilled Juventus outfit, it will be an incredibly difficult task.
