Tottenham secured a clean sheet, but drew 0-0 with Everton in Antonio Conte’s first league game as Spurs boss – and Oliver Skipp was excellent.
Having beaten Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa League, Spurs an Conte were tasked with a tougher job of beating Everton in the Italian’s second outing.
Using a three-man defence again, which incorporated Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies – Spurs kept a clean sheet, but failed to score.
What will have pleased Conte, was the work rate of his Tottenham players. The defensive solidity – and they almost won it, Gio Lo Celso hitting the post.
One of Conte’s players crucial to that was England Under-21 ace Skipp. He has started both games under Conte, lasting 90 minutes on Sunday.

Skipp stats: Tottenham star goes under the radar in Everton draw
Skipp was equally good with the ball, as he was without it. Defensively, WhoScored say he made three tackles and produced two clearances.
Solid, as a defensive blanket in front of the back three – covering wing-backs at times. But he was just as good with the ball at his feet on Sunday.
Attempting 46 passes, Skipp completed 43 – while many were sideways, he was seen feeding some of his attacking teammates. Two key passes, too.
Indeed, it was his burst and run that found Lo Celso before he hit the post. He found his target twice, when attempting three long passes.
Hugo Lloris got a clean sheet, the defence was sturdy – with Ben Davies earning praise from fans. Skipp goes under the radar, but was good, too.
