During the first half of the 2018/19 campaign, Crystal Palace produced perhaps the most surprising result of the season when they won 3-2 at the Etihad.
Here are three surprise packages that have stood out for the Eagles so far.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka
The young defender broke into the team last season, yet few could have predicted the heights Wan-Bissaka would have hit this campaign.
The right back has quickly transformed into one of Palace’s most influential players, and is staking a claim for a senior England call-up in the process.
At just 21 years of age, Wan-Bissaka has kept some of the league’s brightest wingers in check, offering superb one-on-one defending skills and an excellent turn of pace at the back.

Andros Townsend
The former Tottenham and Newcastle man scored undoubtedly the goal of the season against Manchester City, walloping home a 30-yard volley into the top corner.
Townsend has struggled to turn his ambitious shots into goals for much of his career, but with his recent run of form, it appears the mercurial winger may be turning a corner.
Offering a more consistent goal threat under Roy Hodgson, Andros Townsend is doing his best to ease the pressure on Palace’s main talent Wilfried Zaha.

Jeffrey Schlupp
In Jeffrey Schlupp’s entire Crystal Palace career before the start of the season, he had played in 39 Premier League matches without scoring a single goal.
But the versatile left-sided player has already bagged three goals this season for the Eagles, adding vital goals from wide positions this campaign.
His first goal was a lashed finish into the top corner on the opening day against Fulham, followed up by a strike in a losing effort to West Ham in December.
Schlupp’s standout moment came last weekend against Manchester City, however, fizzing a low finish past Ederson to level the scores en route to a famous win.
