Mateo Kovacic
The Croatian midfielder has been increasingly linked with Klopp’s Liverpool over the last few days, and is a player most definitely worth watching as he looks to help Croatia in their Euro 2016 bid.
The Real Madrid man usually plays in the centre of park, but can also play as a defensive playmaker to sit in front of the back four, and is an extremely versatile option.
At merely 22 years of age, Kovacic has a bright future ahead of him, but after signing for the Galacticos last summer, he has struggled for first-team football, making just 25 starts for Real under Rafa Benitez and Zinedine Zidane. It could easily be argued his talent and development is being wasted and stalled at this point in time.
A move to a club like Liverpool may well make sense for Kovacic, and the player would certainly make sense for the Anfield outfit, with his undoubted ability, especially considering the inconsistency of Jordan Henderson last season and the uncertain future of Lucas Leiva.
Those are three viable options for Liverpool to pursue and keep an eye on at this summer’s European Championships. Let us know if you agree with our selection in the comments section below.
