Three stand-out performers Liverpool should sign from Euro 2016

Shkodran Mustafi

At 24, Mustafi is entering the prime of his career, and has been rewarded for his consistency and great defensive work at current club Valencia with a place in Löw’s Germany squad in Euro 2016.

The 6ft centre-half scored Germany’s opening goal of the tournament against the Ukraine, and has six goals from 61 starts for Valencia, meaning not only can he defend but he can contribute at the other end too.

The centre-back position is another that Klopp will be looking to add to, with the release of Ivorian Kolo Touré and the future of Slovakian Martin Skrtel looking increasingly destined to be away from Anfield.

Mustafi has played in England and indeed the city of Liverpool before, so should not have too much trouble settling down. However, he may not want to join the Reds, being a former Evertonian and once claiming that “Goodison Park feels like home.”
