Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson – Charlton
The Icelandic international could prove to be a masterstroke if Brian McDermott could lure him to the Madejski Stadium in the summer. The 25 year-old has three years remaining on his current deal at Charlton but having led the Championship in assists this season at a relegated club, it is clear that he has the capability to play at a higher level than League One.
How would he help the club?
If he was to arrive at Reading it would satisfy many calls for a new Icelandic player given the popularity of the previous Icelanders to pull on the Reading shirt. He would also be another creative outlet for Brian McDermott’s side as his ability to be create opportunities for his teammates is well known and has been shown time and time again this season at The Valley.
