Manolo Gabbiadini
Everton have been linked with a number of strikers this summer and Gabbiadini is just the latest name supposedly close to making the move to Goodison Park.
Romelu Lukaku may have been fantastic last season, but he cannot do it all by himself; the fact that the Belgian forward has failed to score in his last 13 games for the Blues is testament to this. Goals will have to come from elsewhere if Everton are to build on last season’s 11th-place finish and whilst Gabbiadini’s total of five Serie A goals in 2015/16 is hardly prolific, the effect he had on his Napoli strike partner Gonzalo Higuain suggests that he has something to offer Everton.
Koeman seems to think so, with media reports over the past 24 hours suggesting that the Toffees are in talks with the Italian club over signing the 24-year-old. Other than Lukaku, Arouna Kone is Everton’s only recognised senior striker, so it should go without saying that a striker will be one of Koeman’s main priorities today.
