Mathieu Flamini
Flamini is a free agent after his contract at Arsenal expired in June and he has yet to find a new club. There has been plenty of interest in him across Europe, but he may be tempted to stay in the Premier League. David Moyes has shown a preference for experienced players and Flamini is exactly the type of midfielder that they need. He is robust and has an impressive work rate, which Sunderland have lacked during the opening three games.
As a free transfer, Flamini would carry little risk and would be able to make an immediate impact. Although he isn’t the player he was in his prime, he is more than good enough for Sunderland and has the battling qualities required in a relegation fight. They desperately need more quality at Sunderland and Flamini would be a good signing.
