In the end, Bristol City ensured their Championship status rather comfortably. However, such ease seemed a million miles away in the first few weeks of the New Year. Steve Cotterill; the man who won the League One title and JPT with City, was given the boot, and former player Lee Johnson was appointed manager.
Not a universally popular appointment, Johnson has dramatically improved a Robins side that looked laborious and stagnant only a few months ago. So, going forward, Johnson will want to bring in his own players and maintain the form City have enjoyed since he sat in the Ashton Gate hot seat – City would have been on for a play-off push if Johnson’s win percentage lasted over the entire campaign.
Here are three players (some already familiar to the Ashton Gate faithful) that would go a long way towards a much more positive, and less stressful 2016/17 season. Please feel free to leave your comments at the end of the article, and find the prospective new line-up on the final page.
