2) They arguably have the best squad in the league.

When analysing the quality and depth of the “sky blues” squad you would find it difficult to argue against them having the most impressive roster in the league. When fit they have undoubtedly one of the best spines to a side in Europe. Joe Hart is still one of the best in the league an despite an ever changing back four in front of him and he has eight clean sheets in the league this season. Vincent Kompany brings solidity to the Man City back four and they will hope he can now put a string of games together as they look to push on at the business end of their league campaign.

There are not many more gifted in the final third than David Silva, but unfortunately there has been a theme this season and that theme is ” lack of fitness”. The skillful Spaniard has only made 12 league appearances contributing seven assists and a solitary goal. Yaya Toure has had an inconsistent time this season, the powerful midfielder has been accused of lacking the drive to perform in the “bigger” league games. He most notably went missing in the 2-1 loss away at Arsenal where he was criticised by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for his lack of effort, that being said when he is in the mood he can be unplayable.

A great example of his quality was highlighted in the last 15 minutes of their 2-1 win at Watford, they were 1-0 down and facing their sixth league defeat. Toure and Aguero took it upon themselves to turn the match on it’s head. You write off Manchester City at your peril which is something that Watford fell foul of at Vicarage Road.
