As another year passes Arsenal by without eyes on the Premier League title and with a beating at Stamford Bridge to sour over, it’s time to enforce change. Arsene Wenger’s future is one topic as his contract expires this summer, yet a two-year deal is on the table.
Another is the two Hollywood names of North London, Mesut Ozil, and Alexis Sanchez. The former has come in for heavy criticism since the Christmas period and many believe it’s time the club part ways with the German. Ozil enters the last 18 months of his current deal this summer and gives the Gunners a decision; to cash in or renew his contract.
If they choose to get as much of their £42 million back as possible, here are some who they can turn to try to attract to the Emirates.
James Rodriguez
Injury-hit this campaign but a wonderful player, Rodriguez has been subject to speculation after being tempted with a mega-money offer from China. The Colombian has not been a regular under Zinedine Zidane but is determined to fight for his place.
Yet, Madrid have been linked with a reunion as they supposedly have first say on any move away from London for Ozil, meaning someone has to depart right? This would leave Rodriguez in limbo and if the former Madrid playmaker arrives, Arsenal could initiate a swap for a player who got more assists, goals, and chances created in fewer minutes last season than Ozil has this campaign
