A return to Spain
Having scored 17 goals in 36 games in La Liga last season, it seems almost certain that clubs in his native Spain could be alerted to the situation of Perez. However, the technicalities of the deal could make it near impossible for the uncapped striker to return to his home country.
That’s not to say that he is a player who struggled when abroad, he has performed well in spells in both Ukraine and Greece before testing himself in England, but the financial offering could prove problematic. Likely to be of interest to a number of Spanish clubs, very few would be able to match Arsenal’s potential asking price of match anywhere near his current wages in the Premier League.
Valencia seems the most likely destination as they fit the mould of a club of a club desperate for a striker who have the money available and would take a player of his quality, but their interest could hinge on the performances of former West Ham striker Simone Zaza during his loan spell which runs until the end of the season.
