Niklas Sule
Could Everton stump up big cash for Niklas Sule?
Sule is a player who has been linked to Everton since the closure of the summer window and could possibly be a target for January.
The 21-year-old is highly-rated across Europe and has caught the eye of many over the past few seasons, last season he played in 33 Bundesliga games for Hoffenheim.
The German’s agent confirmed Chelsea, who were in the market for a centre-back, failed with a bid for the German, before resigning David Luiz.
Having missed just one league game last term, Sule was a standout player; he finished the season with the highest pass accuracy (86%) in the squad, averaged the most defensive actions per game with nine and won the most duels with 57%.
During the summer, Sule played six times for Germany’s Olympic side, in which they earned a silver medal. In a matter of months later, the 6’5” tall defender was called up to the German national squad where he gained his first international cap.
He’s begun this season well, with his side unbeaten after the opening six games.
Sule’s played five of the six games – missing one through injury – and has seen an improvement in his performances. He’s winning considerably more duels compared to last season and has used the ball more efficiently with a pass completion of 90%.
A move for Sule could materialise during January, but with hot interest, it could be a costly move.
