Three possible destinations for Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge in January

Bournemouth

This could be seen as a slightly unrealistic one as Bournemouth are unlikely to part with upwards of £25 million to sign a single player. However, a loan move is a possibility for Sturridge if he is desperate for first team football. Bournemouth have already showed that they would be interested in a deal like this after signing Jack Wilshere on loan during the summer. A similar deal for Sturridge would make a lot of sense as they would be able to bring in a player with lots of experience at the highest level for a relatively modest fee. Callum Wilson is a good Premier League striker, but Sturridge would be a significant upgrade. If Sturridge does make himself available, I’d be hugely surprised if Bournemouth aren’t one of the clubs to enquire.

For the striker, a loan move to Bournemouth could be a good temporary solution. He would have the chance to play regularly in a talented, young side and revive his reputation. It can be difficult to do big deals in January and a loan move could be more realistic for Sturridge. Jack Wilshere has managed to play his way back into the England set-up and there is certainly going to be bigger clubs interested next summer if he fails to earn another chance at Arsenal. Sturridge may need to take a step down to prove to bigger clubs that he can stay fit and score goals regularly in the Premier League. Bournemouth would be a good place for him to show both.
