Tonight begins another Champions League quest for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side, who make the short journey across the English Channel to France, and then onto the capital, Paris. The French Champions are set to be waiting, a team that without the likes of David Luiz, Lucas Digne and Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn’t seem as intimidating as it once was.
PSG have begun their season in the same style as the Gunners, a couple of wins, a draw and a defeat leaving them in seventh position. Perhaps, this can be seen as a game between two sides who are on a level-playing field, with this game going a long way to determining who is going to top the group, and have the more successful campaign.
For Arsenal, the whole team is going to need to put in a solid away performance. These three players in particular are going to need to shine for the side, to get something from the game:
Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal’s best defender should be fit to start alongside Shkodran Mustafi at the back. The talented Frenchman has been a rock since his return to the side, and will need to put in another exciting display. His leadership skills, commitment and knack for being at the right place at the right time will all be qualities he will need to demonstrate. He may not have the same joy from set-pieces that he had at the weekend, but if he can put in the same committed defensive performance, then it will go a long way to deciding if the Gunners get anything tonight.
