Daniel Sturridge
The ongoing transfer saga involving Saido Berahino has dominated the past few windows, and it could well feature prominently again this time.
If West Brom finally do decide to cut their losses and sell (Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City have been linked previously), it would provide the funds needed for a new striker to act as competition for Salomon Rondon.
That man could well be Sturridge, who is no longer first choice under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and has cut a frustrated figure at his lack of game-time.
Whether Sturridge would be willing to leave Merseyside is another question, but the England forward would bring a huge amount of quality and inventiveness to the Baggies’ forward line.
Yes, he would command a huge fee and wages, but an audacious bid would certainly underline West Brom’s ambitiousness.
