Kyle Walker
Perhaps the biggest conundrum for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino this summer will come in the shape of England international Kyle Walker.
Undeniably one of the best right-backs in the Premier League – and named in the PFA Team of the Year this season – a falling out with the Argentine manager has left clouds looming over his future.
Tensions have grown in the climax to this season as, with Tottenham’s calendar piling up, Kieran Trippier was preferred for crucial matches against Chelsea and Arsenal whilst Walker was rested.
With reports claiming that Walker is after a higher wage package to match the likes of Harry Kane, and with the club seemingly reluctant to pay out and meet these demands, Pochettino will have to make a big decision over the upcoming months on whether he is an indispensable member or not.
This fall-out does nothing to deter from an immense season for the 26-year-old though, leading by example with some stubborn defending whilst always looking a threat down the Spurs right-flank.
39 chances created this year, including five assists, is an incredible return for a defender, and the switch to a right-wing back role has seen him really develop as an all-rounder this season.
With Pep Guardiola and Manchester City on the alert for any mention of a move away, it’s beginning to look more and more likely that Walker will be facing his old club next year, not playing for them.
