The Importance Of Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane

Martin O’Neill was a fantastic manager at Aston Villa and appears to provide a cool head in the dressing room, backing his players with his calm management style.

The advantage that Ireland have going into Euro 2016 is that there is no pressure to go and win the tournament and so O’Neill will let his players enjoy themselves.

Roy Keane as many know, isn’t one to shy away from situations and will be vital in getting his players motivated for each game.

It seems as though the Republic of Ireland have a good balance in terms of a no nonsense coach and a manager with a cool demeanour and although their group appears tough, Italy are nowhere near the team they once
were and Belgium have failed to live up to expectations.

With the strength of McCarthy, the pace of Long and the leadership of Keane, the Republic could surprise a few this summer.
