Aymen Abdennour
Aymen Abdennour is a name that Everton supporters may recognise after the Club made an attempt to sign the Valencia defender during the summer transfer window, and he’s once again heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park in January.
Talks of a move have gained momentum recently after the Tunisian rejected a big-money offer to play in China, with reports saying he wants to continue playing his football in Europe.
Abdennour has been at Valencia since August 2015, but with the Spanish side only just outside the relegation spots in La Liga Koeman could take advantage and bring the defender to Everton.
The Tunisian could slot in alongside Ashley Williams, who himself has really grown into the Everton backline this season, and provide stiff competition for an under-performing Phil Jagielka. Williams and Abdennour have comparable playing styles, with neither afraid of getting stuck in and roughing up the opposition attackers; and a robust centre-back pairing is what Koeman will need if they are to improve on their finishing positions in the last two seasons.
Reports are saying that Marseille and Chelsea are also set to enter into the race for the Valencia man, so it seems that if Everton are to acquire the services of Adbennour then they may have to dig deep in a bidding war.
