This maybe a left field suggestion given his inconsistent form this season, but Riyad Mahrez would be a great signing for Chelsea. The change in formation means that Chelsea have four wide players on the pitch at any one time.

Eden Hazard is no doubt the star at Chelsea, but there is a lack of dynamism among the other wide options in the squad. Victor Moses, Pedro and Willian all possess great work rates and can contribute in the final third, but they lack the excitement that Hazard provides.

Chelsea looked a worse team without Hazard against Sunderland and Conte may want to add another mercurial talent to his squad to create more competition for places.

The Algerian made his name last season as a part of Leicester’s incredible title victory, but he hasn’t been the same this year. That said, he has starred in their Champions League campaign, which suggests a lack of motivation domestically.

Although that is poor, it is an attitude that is common among several Leicester players and they may choose to move on over the next two windows. He has a huge amount of talent and can produce game-changing moments out of nothing.

Chelsea need another player like that and Mahrez has proven himself at the highest level, while there is still room for improvement. He is a player that could step up his game if he does move to a bigger club.

It may be difficult to take him away from the KP Stadium in January, due to Leicester’s Champions League commitments, but he is a player that should be considered.
