Three players Southampton should target from this summer’s Euros

Grzegorz Krychowiak

Grzegorz Krychowiak, unlike Brady, would be a much harder signing to make, which is made evident by the fact that the likes of Arsenal have been linked with him in recent years.

The defensive midfielder has played the full 90 minutes of all three of Poland’s games in this summers’ championships so far.

At 26-years-old, Krychowiak has many years ahead of him and would be an ideal replacement for Victor Wanyama at Southampton.

Currently playing for Sevilla in La Liga, he has won two consecutive Europa League titles with the club and made the team of the competition on both occasions.

In Euro 2016, Poland are yet to concede a goal despite having a tough group that includes world champions, Germany, and Krychowiak has been fantastic in providing a shield in front of his defenders.

With the influx of exciting managers in the Premier League next season, and one sure to be announced by Southampton soon, the Polish international may see the Premier League as a tempting destination.

The Saints would be able to offer the former Reims player Europa League football and a chance to prove himself in Europe’s most watched league.

Krychowiak’s performances at the Euros may see him set his sights higher than St Mary’s, but there have been a string of players who go to Southampton and are later being pursued by some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
