Brady is someone that poses a major threat down the left-flank and possesses the ability to play both as a winger and a left-back.

The Republic of Ireland international has been representing his country at this summer’s championships and his dangerous crosses caused Sweden some serious problems in his countries opening group match.

At Southampton, Ryan Bertrand is the first choice left-back with his understudy being academy graduate, Matt Targett.

However, Targett faded out the picture towards the end of the season and so Brady would provide some much-needed competition for Bertand.

Whoever takes the reins at St Mary’s as the new manager will probably be looking for a winger who can provide pace, width and versatility, making Brady a very appealing prospect.

An advantage Saints have is Norwich City, the 24-year-old’s current club, were relegated from the Premier League last season and so the fee to take him away from Carrow Road should be affordable.
