Newcastle United are enjoying a surprisingly good season under the stewardship of Steve Bruce.
The Magpies were rocked by the departure of Rafa Benitez in the summer but Bruce has ensured a relatively smooth transition.

With results proving pretty decent, Bruce will hope to strengthen his squad in the summer.
That could mean some players going in the opposite direction and we looked at three players who could leave Newcastle on loan in 2020:
Karl Darlow
The former Nottingham Forest man has been Steve Bruce’s backup goalkeeper this season.
Rob Eliott is also on the books, however, and Darlow might benefit from a loan spell.

The 29-year-old is at an age where he needs to be playing regular football and leaving Newcastle on a temporary basis could work.
With Martin Dubravka in the form of his life, first-team football won’t be forthcoming at St James’ Park any time soon.
Dwight Gayle
The striker hasn’t earned sufficient football to impress this season and a loan stint might work out for the best.
It seems logical that clubs in the Championship may want to buy Gayle, but perhaps Newcastle could hang fire on that one.
A loan spell would allow him to get back in some sort of form and that might benefit Newcastle next season.
Gayle has only made substitute appearances this season and the goals have dried up from last season when he netted 26 on loan at West Brom.
Jamie Sterry
The right-back wasn’t named in Steve Bruce’s 25-man squad prior to the 2019/20 campaign.
At 24 Sterry is in desperate need of football and a loan move would be ideal for the man with eight first-team appearances to his name.

Sterry has turned out for Coventry City and Crewe Alexandra before and a switch lower down the pyramid would hand him some much-needed game time.
