Three players Liverpool should target to challenge for the title feat. Aston Villa star
Liverpool have started the new season strongly and are the second favourites for the title with the majority of bookmakers. Jurgen Klopp has had an entire summer to work with his squad and the players now look a lot more comfortable with his style of play, which requires high work rate. During the summer, the club offloaded a lot of deadwood and brought in players that would be comfortable playing under Klopp. Sadio Mane and Gini Wijnaldum have made an immediate impact at Anfield showing that greater care is going into recruitment.
During the summer months, they also added Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan, as the club looked to provide Klopp with a squad capable of challenging for the top four. There is still plenty of work to be done in the transfer market with the club desperate to finally win a Premier League title.
They believe they have the right manager at the helm. The German is known for improving the players he has available to him and that has been evident since he took over at Liverpool. The best examples of this is Adam Lallana, who has been one of the best players in the league during the first six matches of the season.
Klopp will already be targeting players for the upcoming windows, as he knows the qualities required to perform in his sides. He wasn’t given the responsibility of signing players at Borussia Dortmund as they have the highly-rated talent-spotter Michael Zorc. The jury is still out on Klopp as he tries to prove that he can excel in the world of player recruitment. Over the next few pages, here are three players that I think Liverpool should target during the next two transfer windows:
