Three players Everton should loan out during 2021

Everton have enjoyed a relatively strong start to the 2020/21 campaign and under Carlo Ancelotti, things look to be on the up.

The Toffees are fourth in the Premier League and have won their last three games in the top-flight.

With Everton chasing a European dream, the Italian boss might want to continue with his squad rebuilding process next month.

In order to do that, however, some players might need to head in the opposite direction after a busy summer.

Ahead of the window opening, we looked at three players who Everton should consider loaning out in 2021.

Jarrad Branthwaite

The young defender is still inexperienced when it comes to men’s football and some game time wouldn’t go amiss.

Last season, the ex-Carlisle player featured four times in the first-team but during the current campaign, he’s not been in contention.

Ancelotti has clearly felt that his development has been best served playing under-23 football during the first half of 2020/21.

With that in mind, getting him out on loan could certainly enhance his development.

Anthony Gordon

Another player who has seen his progress stall somewhat this season has been the academy graduate.

Gordon hasn’t even been in the matchday squad for eight of Everton’s 14 Premier League games, making just two cameo appearances.

The 19-year-old has registered four assists in 17 appearances for the Toffees but it waiting for an elusive first goal.

As a result, a loan to a Championship club could prove just the tonic for the youngster.

Jonas Lossl

The third choice goalkeeper has been a largely pointless signing from an Everton perspective and his days look numbered at Goodison Park.

Lossl arrived in the summer of 2019 and is yet to make his debut for the Toffees.

He has been on the bench five times this season but with Jordan Pickford and Robin Olsen ahead of him, his chances of starring look slim.

On £28,000-a-week he could price out a permanent move to the second-tier and with that in mind, a loan move could prove the best option.
