Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is renown for giving opportunities to youngsters to breakthrough into his first team.
The obvious example of this is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was given the opportunity to cement his place in the German’s starting XI last season at just 19 years of age.
In a whirlwind year for the teenager, he went from appearing only the odd cup fixtures to a Champions League final starting position and a place in England’s World Cup squad.
Now the question is if any other Liverpool youngsters can follow suit this season.
With plenty of young talent appearing for the Reds in their pre-season fixtures, it is more than likely a select few will be given a chance to flourish.
Here, we identify three Liverpool youngsters who could breakthrough into Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.

Curtis Jones
A local lad, Jones has impressed the Anfield faithful with some stellar pre-season performances, and at the tender age of seventeen, he looks destined for bigger and better things.
Jones can play anywhere in the midfield, which makes him a quality option for Jurgen Klopp to consider in the cup competition’s this season.
Jones could certainly add a different dimension to the Reds’ midfield and is an enviable weapon for Klopp to have at his disposal; expect to see and hear a lot more from him this season.
Rafael Camacho
Liverpool signed Camacho from Manchester City in 2016, and the Manchester club may live to regret letting such a top talent leave their ranks for a fierce rival.
Camacho has shown glimpses during the Merseyside clubs pre-season tour of what he is capable of, finding the back of the net against Tranmere, and has the ability to play anywhere along the front three but is naturally a winger.
It will be interesting to see how Klopp uses Camacho this season, with the Portuguese youth winger likely to be a constant feature in the Reds’ under-23’s side.

Nat Phillips
Phillips was a surprise top performer in Liverpool’s pre-season tour and was a permanent fixture at centre back for the Reds with Dejan Lovren off duty after his World Cup heroics.
The tall centre back fitted into Jurgen Klopp’s possession based sides with ease and looked comfortable throughout the games he featured.
Phillips is the Reds under-23’s captain, and in Liverpool’s 4-1 preseason win over Manchester United he kept star man Alexis Sanchez at bay with relative ease, showing maturity and class far beyond his years.
