Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League champions have continued their excellent 2019-20 form this time around as they look to defend their title – but which three Liverpool players deserve a pay rise under the German boss?
Andy Robertson
Perhaps one of the best signings in Premier League history given his £8million (Independent) price tag, Robertson signed a new contract until the summer of 2024 in January 2019 – which is worth £50,000 a week, as per Spotrac.
But given the Scotland captain is one of the first names on the Reds team sheet and arguably one of the world’s best left-backs, surely the former Hull man deserves to be given a pay rise for his consistent Liverpool form?
Sadio Mane

It is difficult to make a case for a player earning £100,000 a week to earn more. However, Mo Salah earns a whopping £200,000 a week – double Mane’s wage, according to Spotrac.
Yes, Salah has scored more goals than Mane in less appearances – but the importance of both is certainly on a level par. There is an argument to suggest Salah deserves more than Mane, but double? Mane needs a pay rise.
Joe Gomez
Not only has Gomez been crucial to this Liverpool side for more than a season, but the 23-year-old’s importance has dramatically increased following the injury suffered by Virgil van Dijk. The England ace is the club’s best defender.
Signed for a bargain £3.5million (BBC) from Charlton, Gomez is earning just £28,000 a week – according to Spotrac, less than half of new signing Konstantinos Tsimikas. It is imperative he is handed a new contract.
