From Mata’s eight Premier League starts this season, United have won five and drawn three, and remain unbeaten. The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move away when Mourinho was appointed, but he is now enjoying his best run of form at the club instead, even earning a recall to the Spanish national team.

Mata has become one of United’s most consistent and threatening attacking players, with only Anthony Martial having as many shots as he did on Saturday. With a 100% success rate with his three dribbles too, he was a constant thorn in the side of an Arsenal defence who were expecting to be distracted by Marcus Rashford’s pace.
