9 – familiar duo link up again
Tottenham’s second goal early in the second-half came from a familiar route for all Tottenham fans, with Christian Eriksen linking up with Harry Kane once more.
When Kane flicked home the Dane’s free-kick it signalled the ninth time that Eriksen has assisted the England striker since August 2015 – in the same period, no other player has provided more.
Both men have been integral parts of Tottenham’s impressive Premier League campaign, with Eriksen providing 13 assists from midfield – the second highest in the league – whilst Kane has chipped in with 22 goals from just 28 league appearances, averaging a goal every 107 minutes.
This partnership could have gone into double figures on Sunday too had Kane not clipped the crossbar from Eriksen’s first-half cross, but he ensured he made no mistake second time around.
If Tottenham are to continue their success under Mauricio Pochettino into next season at the unfamiliar surroundings of Wembley, these certainly need to play influential roles once again.
