It is well known that Liverpool have failed to win the Premier League title, despite sitting top of the table at Christmas on three previous occasions.

However, out of the last eight times the Reds have sat second on Christmas Day in the top division, they have gone on to win the league six times, only once finishing lower than second.

Could this be an omen that Jurgen Klopp’s men will finally end their 27-year hoodoo?
