Keeping players was just as important as signing them

Romelu Lukaku announced that he was staying at Everton in the latter stages of the transfer window. Keeping the center-forward who offers at least 20-goals could be seen as more vital than any signing Koeman could have made this summer. Having Lukaku still at the club is a big boost going into the season post transfer window, and also having players such as Deulofeu still at the club brings more momentum. Koeman does seem to have a plan, with many players cast out quickly, sold and other players replaced, purchased, or told to stay, and that offers hope going into the early reins of the Ronald Koeman era. Clearly, something is brewing for the future at Goodison Park.
