The Old Trafford fortress that was once an intimidating and gruelling arena for opposing teams under Alex Ferguson has looked increasingly fragile since the legendary Scotsman retired. Even under Mourinho, who once went over 50 home games unbeaten at Stamford Bridge, United have dropped seven points at the Theatre of Dreams after succumbing to a derby-day defeat and frustrating draws against Stoke City and Burnley. This has not left an awful lot of room for error and if the Red Devils are to break into the top four and genuinely challenge for the Premier League title then they must start to increase their points tally on home turf.

The visit of Arsenal to Old Trafford is always a highly charged occasions and these two sides have a long-standing rivalry and history that traces back to the start of the Premier League era. Defeat for United could leave them nine points short of a Champions League spot and, whilst the North Londoners would be delighted with a point, you sense that a draw would not be enough for the Red Devils. A must win game!
