It’s not been the most exciting transfer window to be a Tottenham fan, and the club have yet to bring in any signings with the first Premier League fixture looming.
Nevertheless, there’s still time for some deals to take place before the window shuts and there’s nothing like a few last minute transfers to get the excitement for the new season to reach a fever pitch.
Here at The Boot Room, we take a look at three ins and outs that Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side could complete this coming week.
Spurs still confident they can sign forward
According to the Telegraph, Tottenham are still confident they can land Manchester United’s out of favour forward Anthony Martial before the transfer window closes.
It seems this saga will go right to the wire, with the Frenchman keen to leave Manchester. However, United are reportedly unwilling to let go of his services just yet and want to use a clause in the forward’s contract to extend his stay for another 12 months.
New Aston Villa owners may prevent Grealish deal
The Daily Mail claims that Aston Villa doesn’t need to sell Jack Grealish anymore after billionaire owners took over the club this past week.
The news will come as a blow to Tottenham and Pochettino who have been chasing Grealish for the majority of this summer’s transfer window.
Nevertheless, Grealish is still reportedly keen on a move away from Villa and is hoping for Spurs to make a bid for him before the start of the new season.
Is Janssen going or staying?
Vincent Janssen looked set to be leaving Spurs for Turkish side Fernabache this summer. However, the Turkish giants’ boss Phillip Cocu is now said to be not keen on the deal, according to Milliyet.
This will come as a massive blow for Spurs, who have been looking to offload the out of favour forward for quite some time now and there appear to be no other potential suitors for the Dutchman.
