Southampton broke their transfer record in spending £16.7 million on Lille’s attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal, and Saints fans will want to see what he is all about as soon as possible, starting at Arsenal.

Lille, one of Puel’s former clubs, have a proud recent history of producing premium attacking midfielders with Eden Hazard and Dimitri Payet two of their former stars, and Boufal looks to be in a similar mould. The 22-year-old scored 11 and assisted four goals in Ligue 1 last season, and was by far Lille’s most dangerous attacking threat.

Saints fans will hope that this form is translated to England, and the pacey, skilful Moroccan certainly has the ability. He could cause a new Arsenal defence some serious problems at the weekend.
