Three changes Liverpool should make after the international break

Replace Simon Mignolet with Loris Karius

Another area where Liverpool have been affected by injury in the opening weeks of the season is in goal, after new signing Loris Karius broke his hand in pre-season.

Mignolet has carried on in goal, and he has not played badly this season, but the whole reason Liverpool signed 22-year-old Karius was to be an upgrade on the erratic Belgian.

Karius is a better rounded goalkeeper, is better with the ball at his feet, and crucially doesn’t struggle with crosses in the same way Mignolet has in recent seasons. The defence need a strong, confident goalkeeper behind them, and Karius will, in time, be that man. As soon as his hand is better, Klopp should play him.
