Three best and worst performers in Everton's draw with Crystal Palace
Ronald Koeman’s Everton put an end to a run of two consecutive defeats in all competitions but will still be disappointed that they were forced to share the spoils with Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Friday evening.
The game was built up in the battle between Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke ahead of the two Belgians uniting on international duty in the coming week. Both were on the scoresheet as the Everton forward scored a superb free-kick over the non-jumping Crystal Palace wall before half-time.
Benteke responded in superb style with a beautiful header looping past Maarten Steklenburg to put the scores back level as Palace produced an impressive second half display which almost saw them take the three points with Damien Delaney’s effort perhaps wrongly ruled out later on.
