With Tottenham looking to ready their squad for an assault on the Champions League after last season’s lofty 3rd place finish, Mauricio Pochettino has identified the area of attacking midfielder as one that needs strengthening over the summer.
With players such as Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen being first choice, this may not seem like such a priority, but in need of rotation during a long season, not losing quality in this area is imperative.
It was clear at times Tottenham suffered when Nacer Chadli, Son Heung-min and others were played behind the striker, and if they are to repeat last season’s successes, this will want to be avoided.
